Donuts + Democracy = Magic

Help us turn out young voters one donut at a time!

As we head into the final four weeks of what will be the most important election of our and our kids' lives, it’s clear that we have to go all in - this is our election to lose and it will come down to turning out voters. The voters where we have the most room to grow with are young voters - they also have the most gain to by voting (check out what AOC said) which is why we’re very excited to share some incredible news. 

We have launched Donuts & Democracy 2024 nationwide and have - in just a few days - officially partnered with 32 (and counting!!) college campuses (list below). We’re blown away by the response AND need your help ASAP to make this happen! 

What is Donuts & Democracy? It’s a super simple, super fun GOTV program that we test-piloted in Reno and Las Vegas in the midterms. Armed with hundreds of donuts and big mom-energy, we helped hundreds of students make a plan to vote and find their voting locations. And that was just one person, in a few days, at a few schools. Imagine what we can do at many colleges and with way more donuts! 

Donuts Democracy 2024: We will fund donuts for any college student or student organization who want to host a GOTV event (while supplies last - first come-first served!). All students need to do is complete a Google form, commit to host a “Have A Plan to Vote? Have A Donut” table for 1-3 days during early voting and/or Election Day, share it on social media, and we fund the donuts. That’s it. 

We need to raise $40,000 in the next 7 days and ask that you donate as generously as you possibly can - we don’t have much time and cannot do this without your very generous support. In our 8 years of doing GOTV work, this is, by far, the most direct, effective and impactful form of GOTV that we have ever seen (see why below).  These students are doing the work of getting out the vote and at $2 a donut - this is way less expensive than almost any GOTV strategy to get kids to the polls AND it’s a way of showing our kids that we are committed to their future.
